Raw Material Inspection for Sour Service Seamless Steel Pipe

- Dec 14, 2017 -

We have abundant experiences in supplying sour service seamless steel pipes for oil and gas industry. We are experienced not only in production of sour service seamless steel pipes, but also in cooperation with the third party inspection.  All such pipes are used in state-owned projects, which are important.  All pipes are strictly inspected through the whole process from raw material production to shipment.

Before starting the manufacturing the sour service seamless steel pipes, pre-production meeting will be hold between the manufacturer and the third party inspector. Only after then, can the manufacturer prepare for the raw material of billets. Following we are to talk about the raw material inspection for seamless sour service steel pipes.

There are three items needed to be done for the inspection: 1, Dimension & Visual inspection   2, Chemical Analysis (Heat Analysis) 3, Macro-Examination

For the first item-dimension & visual inspection, the frequency of inspection is random 10%, the requirements include roundness, crack and  concaveness. Equipment needed is measuring gauge. Both inspector and end-user will review the documents.

For the second item-chemical analysis, the frequency of inspection is one analysis per heat of steel, the requirements include chemical components, CE, the total Al, the tolerance for chemical composition. Equipment needed is spectrometer. Both inspector and end-user will review the documents.

For the third item-macro examination, the frequency of inspection is once per heat, the requirements include impurity and crack. Equipment needed is magnifying glass. Both inspector and end-user will review the documents.
